25 years ago, in June 1992, I arrived in San Francisco from Kiel, Northern Germany, with a bag of belongings, not knowing a single soul, the English language and a quest to discover. I am so grateful because I am now living my dream as an artist and bringing beauty into this world. I took this picture in Tiburon, California and found it appropriate.
Passage to India by Walt Whitman (1819-1892)
Sail forth! steer for the deep waters only!
Reckless, O soul, exploring, I with thee, and thou with me;
For we are bound where mariner has not yet dared to go,
And we will risk the ship, ourselves and all.
O my brave soul!
O farther, farther sail!
O daring joy, but safe! Are they not all the seas of God?
O farther, farther, farther sail
